Default Spygate Is Over

Now that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has decreed that Spygate is yesterday's news, you figure there's a chance we can get on with our lives?

I never got Spygate. Oh, I could see the controversy, but having witnessed scouts for years checking out coaches' signals with binoculars, I never got how it came to be viewed by some as a scandal for the ages.

The truth is, it wasn't. In the end, it was all about who cheated, not to what lengths he went to cheat. It was all about putting it to the NFL's most unpopular coach and the league's most despised team.

In the end, it was about jealousy. Not all about jealousy maybe, but mostly about it.

Default They aren't jealous

The clumsy "other teams are just jealous" argument is dim-witted, poorly researched, and doesn't belong in a major city newspaper. Please, Jim, check out the great article on ESPN.com, about how Belichek should be suspended... it goes into DETAIL about the inner workings of the operation, how the Patriots edited the plays and calls together and turned this seemingly innocuous activity into a well organized effort to bend the rules. And Belichek has been bending the rules in this manner since the 1980s as a member of the New York Giants coaching staff (with his right hand man Ernie Adams.)

For more thorough concepts, maybe just try the "dartboard method". Just because a lame thought like this pops into your head doesn't mean it should become the next day's article.
