My original cable went bad for my PS2, and I found a Component cable at a great price. The trouble is, my TV only has one Component hook-up, and I want to use that for my Progressive Scan DVD Player. I don't have an HDTV (yet). More than one person at Best Buy told me I could use the Component cable and just leave off the "Y" and "CR" cable, allowing me to hook the PS2 up as if I were using a Composite cable.

When I tried this, my picture was black and white. I used to run the PS2 through the composite hook-ups on my VCR, allowing me plenty of room for all the items I have to hook up (VCR, DVD, PS2, and Surround Sound Stereo).

The directions for my DVD player say I have to use the component cables to get all the features. If I have to, I can connect the DVD with an "S" Video cable, but I'd rather use the component hook-ups.

I'd love any suggestions! I could try and find a composite cable for my PS2, but I'd rather use what I have. Is there a device that allows you to hook 2 component devices into the one set of component hook-ups on a TV? Best Buy didn't have anything when I checked with them. (Nothing too expensive, please).
