Red tape shuts down SoCal swingers club
ORANGE, Calif., April 17 (UPI) - A Southern California photo studio officials say is a front for a sex club is closing its doors because of business license problems, the reputed owner says.A man who identified himself as a co-owner of Amnesty told the Orange County Register that the City of Orange was closing the operation down due to violations of its business license. The Register said Thursday that Amnesty operated out of CW Studios, an 8,000-square foot facility that was licensed as a nude modeling studio, but also offered a sex playground for couples.City Attorney Dave DeBerry said it boiled down to a matter of regulatory compliance."They are fully aware of what type of permit they had and what the requirements for operating that type of business in our city is and they did not comply," he said. The Register said the county fire marshal also had some issues about devices used to restrain participants that weren't up to code. The owners of Amnesty e-mailed its regulars saying the current location was drawing too much flak from the city and was "getting too small," the newspaper reported.
