LYNWOOD, Ill. (AP) - Be careful if you have saggy pants in the south Chicago suburb of Lynwood. Village leaders have passed an ordinance that would levy $25 fines against anyone showing three inches or more of their underwear in public.

Eugene Williams is the mayor of Lynwood. He says young men walk around town half-dressed, keeping major retailers and economic development away. He calls the new law a hot topic.

The American Civil Liberties Union says the ordinance targets young men of color.

Young adults in the village, like 21-year-old Joe Klomes, say the new law infringes on their personal style. He says leaders should instead spend money on making the area look nicer.

I have two teens that dress that way but they wear very long t shirts so you can`t see the undies .lol

I guess we should all start dressing alike now?

Come on, it does look pretty bad, why bother wearing pants at all!! I am surprised that none of these kids ever seem to fall over themselves.

This law has been kicked around for a while. I'll admit that I think sagging pants are really disgusting and they look terrible. I don't want to see all of a young man's underwear but I think the law is wrong.

I don't think this should be a law but I tell you how I broke my son. I don't mind the baggy pants as long as I can't see your nasty under wear. My son had on baggy pants and no belt so one day we were in the mall and I just pulled them down in front of everyone. I told him to keep them up with a belt or I would do it again. To this day he never goes without a belt. It was all in fun and we laugh about it all the time.

Good, I hope they fine all these idiots. Do you know how hard it is for a larger person to go to a store and find pants that fit? They can't because all these punks are buying the over sized pants. The good thing about these idiots wearing pants like this, when they do other stupid things they aren't hard to chase down, no one could get away with their pants at their ankles.

Its about time people pay up for showing their ass in public. These retards need to be fined. Its not hard to find cloths that fit.

I cannot tell you how many times I just want to go yank their pants all the way off! I think it's fair...I mean, really...who wants to look at that? Self expression is one thing...sharing your crack with all the world is another all together.

Yep, there's got to be some limits. If your "personal style" is retarded and disgusting, you should pay for it.
