Default I Hate AOL Thread

I hate AOL. I am glad to be the first person to start the I hate AOL thread.

AOL has received the highest percentage of marks for bad service of 140 companies surveyed by Zogby International for MSN Money. Of respondents who said they were familiar with the company's customer service, 47% rated it "poor."

This was their response:
"I think that there have been some things in the past that have happened with customer service, as it does with a lot of customer service," company spokeswoman Dori Salcido said. "A lot of that could be perception."

Default Not a Fan either.

Every time I turn on my computer I get a stupid pop-up/prompt/ message from AOL. I can't get rid of them. I'm so over AOL

Cool It was cool in the late 90's...

The late 90's were owned by AOL and the chat rooms, now the internet is so much more advanced.

I'm with you on this one! I hate AOL also- You download the free version on your computer- hate it and then can't get it off! It's crazy- You delete it- uninstall it- but it's crammed in the hard drive somewhere and it laughs at you! I hate it!

It's great... for people who don't have a clue what they're doing. It's a relatively self-contained "community" that gives you links to whatever Ted Turner & boys want you to see. News, business, sports, politics, entertainment... I used them in the past, but soon found other options, and realized that this went from "the only game in town" to "the ISP for kids, soccermoms, and the technologically challenged. Plus the damn program got clunky as hell and tried taking over things. I tried keeping it around to be able to help less savvy folks in my family, but gutted it because it kept trying to take over.

Get rid of AOL? Easy! Call them up, and tell them to bugger off. Don't take any of their nonsense, either Ensure that your bank/credit card will not accept further charges from them. Go to your Control Panel, and use the Add/Remove programs function, and remove things like America Online, AOL, AIM (unless you use their messenger), AOL Toolbar, etc. Probably have to reboot your machine. All gone, you're now AOL-Free

I have never liked AOL
ever since the first year they came out
just did not click with me

remember those free disks in the mailbox every other week?
they must have spent billions on those

how come we don't get those anymore?
