Is it racist when a white worker is refused a job because he is white and not considered a minority even though he is well qualified for it?

it is hard to say. you would need proof that that was the actual reason for not being hired.

you know how black people sometimes think they weren't hired simply because they are black? well, whites can make the same mistake.

If the reason was anything to do with the colour of the skin, then yes. You do not have to be in the minority to be a victim of racism.

Doesn't matter what color you are that is considered racist if you did not get the job based on the color of your skin. Obviously, that is a tough thing to prove though you would have to have better personality, better qualifications etc etc to really make a case of it.

It is indeed racist.But if the company rules does allow it, then it will be a law.May be company is for the welfare for the minority races.
