Mrs. Middle Class Governor?

Did anyone else flinch when Sarah Palin described herself as being middle class? Excuse me? Since when is a governor middle class? I don't buy that one, and it shocked me.

she was referring to her financial situation and to her lifestyle.
she was also referring mostly to the time BEFORE she was into politics.
