Voting Republican In A Democrat State And Vice-Versa

We live in a state that is predominantly democrat.
The democratic nominee always wins.

Does it make any sense for me to vote, if I would decide to vote republican? I have not decided which way to go yet, but I was just wondering.

Would it make any real difference if I voted republican in a predominantly democrat state?
