As we saw with last week’s announcement by UPS, it’s not only a financially wise decision to switch a company’s vehicles over to alternative fuel — it’s also great
PR. This week, AT&T follows suit by adding 25 compressed natural gas vans, 65 electric hybrid vehicles (Ford Escapes and Toyota Priuses), and 15 “hybrid conversion work trucks). Another interesting aspect of the vehicles (that regular consumers may be interested in) is the “Daily Best Fuel Price Tool” that shows the driver the closest gas station with the cheapest fuel. These fuel efficient vehicles will contribute to save 124 metric tonnes of greenhouse gases and over 34,000 gallons of fuel each year. The vehicles won’t be everywhere yet, but you will be able to catch them in metropolitan areas in California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Ohio and Texas and they’ll be decked out with a “Green Technology” logo - so keep your eyes out on the road.
