Every culture had slavery. The greeks enslaved their own people, ect. ect.
However, the slavery of the Americas was by far the cruelest slavery of all time. The White people who migrated here and stole the land from the native Americans. Also,they treated these slaves worse than any other slaves had been treated before in history. American slavery lasted 450 years and killed almost 40 million people. It was a Hollocaust. There were a FEW of the tribes people who benefited, but the majority of slaves were STOLEN. Also, since selling prisoners of war was a common thing in Africa, they did not know the extreme circumstances that these slaves were put in. In the past slaves could change there status. These particular white people were theives and pirates and were not negotiating for slaves! We are still fighting to be seen as equals. We are grateful to be here, but white people should be grateful to! We do not chose are circumstances and what color we are born or where we are born, so don't tell me I have to be grateful to white people for bringing me here. That's riduculous.
